Photographer
I’m Traci. I’m a photographer in the New York/New Jersey area and I create timeless images capturing my client’s interior spaces, relationships, and lifestyles.
I’m inspired by people, design and small moments that mean everything.
My portraits are classic and my colors are true, but the moments I strive for are the fleeting ones
you might have missed--the giggles in between shots, the teasing between siblings or the “behind the scenes” efforts. My goals when shooting portraits are to first create memories and then document authentic interactions.
I love interior design! HGTV is my Saturday morning jam, and I fancy myself a designer in a different life, but oh boy–do I love capturing the work of the REAL designers in this life! When I’m shooting interior design, I’m structuring images that will inspire and draw the viewer into the space. I become absorbed in the details of spaces, and I have a habit of wandering around with my camera in hand after the official work is done, taking small scene snapshots of shelves, tabletops or pillows that speak to me. Crafting an interior space is nothing less than a work of art, and it brings me immense joy to immerse myself in my clients creations.

HOW I GOT STARTED
"WHEN I WAS YOUNG, I WAS CREATIVE & RESOURCEFUL. SO I GREW UP BEING A GAL WHO 'MAKES THINGS.'"
When I was young, I was creative and resourceful (how many things can you make out of an empty oatmeal container?). I learned how to do everything a little bit. So I grew up to be a gal who “makes things.” You’ll find me baking, sewing, painting, throwing pottery on the wheel, creating graphics for the sports teams or gardening. After college and while working in the banking industry, I zeroed in on photography as a hobby, eventually learning how I liked a photo to look. I took classes and self taught the rest. One day someone offered to pay for my services and the move to professional work started to fall into place. Today, I have been shooting professionally for over 15 years, and I’m just getting started!

FUN FACTS ABOUT TRACI

My interest in photography started when my husband gifted me a “real” film camera around our first anniversary. After a few years of playing around with it on my own, I took a class at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. There, I learned how to shoot manually and process my own film in the darkroom, and I was hooked.

I’m mum hundreds of house plants. (I have a plant problem). I love flowers, herbs, and someday I'll get my hands on the elusive albino monstera!

We have one daughter who is now a teenager, and has served as my preferred practice subject and muse for as long as she has been alive–thanks, baby girl!
